More Details Revealed for Tron: Lightcycle Power Run

Guests can choose whether to try and get a Virtual Queue boarding pass or pay for Lightning Lane

Ahead of the attraction opening on the 4th of April, Walt Disney World has revealed more details of the brand new Tron Roller Coaster. Here are the significant updates you need to know about Disney's Newest Attraction.

Locker System on Tron

Standby Lane

Like Guardians of the Galaxy, there will be no Standby Lane from Tron: Lightcycle Power Run. Therefore, to ride the attraction, you must obtain a Virtual Queue boarding number or a Lightning Lane Pass.

Virtual Queue

Guests must obtain a park reservation for Magic Kingdom. Once inside the park, you must log in to the My Disney Experience App to try and obtain a virtual queue pass. If you're lucky enough to get a boarding number, you will be notified when it's your turn to ride. However, It's worth mentioning that even if you get a Boarding Pass for Tron; you are still not guaranteed to be able to ride the attraction as the boarding groups are subject to availability. So if, for example, the ride experiences lengthy downtime throughout the day, your number may not be called.

Lightning Lane

As expected, Tron will be a Lightning Lane attraction. Therefore, if you cannot get a Virtual Queue pass, you can pay extra to obtain a Lightning Pass. The prices have yet to be released but you can expect to pay around $22 to $30 per person for the privilege.

Lookers

For the first time at Walt Disney World, you cannot take large items on the attraction with you. Instead, Disney is providing complimentary lockers where you keep your bags safe and pick them up after you ride the attraction. You can scan your ticket or use your Magicband to obtain a locker.

There will be a small pocket on the ride vehicle where you can securely store small items such as phones or a camera.

On ride photography

Disney has confirmed that On-Ride Photography will be used on Tron and, best of all, like Rock 'N' Rollercoaster and Seven Dwarfs Mine Train, your photo will automatically link to the My Disney Experience.

Disney has announced the following

You can relive your race through this dark, computerized world when you preview an onboard photo and video automatically linked to your My Disney Experience account through one of the following methods:

Use your eligible mobile device, enable Bluetooth® for the My Disney Experience app* before riding, ensure you’ve logged into the My Disney Experience app* sometime earlier that day, and keep your device out of low power mode. Make sure your mobile device boards your Lightcycle with you and is safely stored in the small Lightcycle compartment to use this method.

Wear a MagicBand or MagicBand+ that’s linked to your My Disney Experience account.
