Delta Airlines has announced the launch of a new winter seasonal route between London Heathrow and Orlando International. The flights are scheduled to commence on 26th October 2024 and will run until the end of March. Initially, the route will be serviced by an Airbus A330-900.

Virgin heading back to Gatwick?

There are speculations about Virgin possibly moving some aircraft back to Gatwick, which has sparked discussions within the industry. Virgin currently operates a daily schedule from Heathrow, but Richard Branson recently expressed intentions to move some flights away from Heathrow back to Gatwick earlier this month. This potential move could add more fuel to the fire of this ongoing debate.

In an interview with the Sunday Times, Sir Richard Branson expressed his desire to resume Virgin Atlantic flights from Gatwick Airport, where the airline's inaugural flight took off for New York in 1984. Despite consolidating operations at Heathrow, Branson emphasised the significance of Gatwick as the airline's starting point and indicated his intention to "twist arms" to make it happen.
