D23: Two New Cars Attractions to race into Frontierland at Magic Kingdom
Last night, during the D23 Expo, Josh D'Amaro, Chairman of Disney Experiences, announced an exciting addition to the Magic Kingdom theme park. A new section inspired by Pixar's Cars will be introduced in a reimagined area of Frontierland.
"The American West has always been about keeping your eyes on the horizon, believing in yourself, carving your own path, and striving toward success. That goes for miners in the mountains, bears from the country, a bayou princess or a big city racecar," D'Amaro shared with the audience.
The updated area, scheduled to begin construction in early 2025, will showcase two new Cars-themed attractions. One of these attractions promises a thrilling rally race through the mountains, offering visitors the chance to navigate wild terrain, climb mountain trails, dodge geysers, and, in Mater's words, splash through mudholes.
Additionally, a family-friendly attraction is also in the works, ensuring that younger guests can join in on the fun.
Disney enthusiasts are eagerly anticipating the development of this new addition to Frontierland and are looking forward to receiving further details as they become available.
