Seaworld Teases New Attractions At Theme Park And Water Park

A new Rollercoaster and a possibly a new Water Attraction coming soon!!

SeaWorld Orlando is well on its way to becoming the Coaster Capital Of Orlando with the construction of a new roller coaster set to open in 2024. While the park has not yet officially announced the new coaster, work is already underway on the site, and the coaster track is already on site. In honour of National Roller Coaster Day, SeaWorld Orlando shared a teaser video on social media featuring a penguin walking towards a 42" height chart inside the penguin enclosure at the park. The caption reads, "Waddling by to say Happy National Roller Coaster Day," and includes a link to a page on the SeaWorld Orlando website where fans can sign up for updates on the new coaster, dubbed "Project Penguin."

Additionally, SeaWorld Orlando has changed their header picture to feature a new straddle coaster, "Arctic Rescue," at SeaWorld San Diego, hinting that the new coaster may also be a straddle coaster. Fans can expect a thrilling new addition to SeaWorld Orlando's coaster lineup, designed and manufactured by roller coaster manufacturer B&M, who have created some of the park's most iconic coasters, such as Manta, MAKO, Kraken, and Pipeline.

So what do we know about the new coaster?

SeaWorld Orlando has confirmed the name of its upcoming roller coaster, Project Penguin, which hints at a story-style coaster with indoor show scenes. The former Empire of the Penguin Ride area will house a section of the coaster, with the station located inside the building. Similar to the live penguin scene at the end of Empire of the Penguin, we can expect a similar scene during the ride. Construction is already underway inside the building and around the former Empire of the Penguin building, where the outdoor section of the coaster will be placed. The coaster is family-friendly, with a 42" height requirement, but still promises major thrills.

SeaWorld Orlando's recent social media header change to "straddle coaster" confirms rumours of a new ride similar to Arctic Rescue at SeaWorld San Diego (see the POV below). Straddle coasters have a unique seating arrangement that allows riders to straddle the seat. SeaWorld already has three straddle coasters in its parks, including Wave Breaker at SeaWorld San Antonio, DarKoaster at Busch Gardens Williamsburg, and Arctic Rescue at SeaWorld San Diego. Interestingly, Arctic Rescue features an indoor launch station inside the Wild Arctic exhibit, which shares similarities with the penguin area at SeaWorld Orlando.

New Slide coming to Aquatica?

Aquatica is unveiling a major project called "Project Shark" on their social media platforms. Guests can sign up for updates on the website, which features an overlay of the "Tassie's Twisters bowl slide" with the message "The water is swirling. Be the first to hear about Project Shark by signing up for emails below." It remains unclear whether this project will update the existing attraction or introduce a new ride.

Be sure to find out here on Brits Guide to Florida with any updates to both projects.
