Watch: Black Bear safely captured at Magic Kingdom

The Bear has been relocated to Ocala National Forest

Yesterday, it was reported that a Black Bear was sighted in the premises of the Magic Kingdom. In response to this situation, the park management took immediate measures to ensure the safety of their guests. As a precautionary measure, Adventureland, Liberty Square, and Frontierland were temporarily closed to the public while the search for the animal was ongoing. During this time, access to the affected areas was restricted to park officials only. As a result, several attractions in these lands were also temporarily closed until the situation was resolved.

The Black Bear was moved Safely to Ocala National Forest

At approximately 12:45 p.m. (5:45 BST) Yesterday, Walt Disney World management decided to grant access to guests for the three lands. Subsequently, at around 1:15 p.m., individuals involved in the search for the bear were observed carrying a sizeable black figure in a white tarp, as evidenced in the photo depicted above. These updates were reported by WESH 2.

The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission said the following:

"In most cases, it is best for bears to be given space and to move along on their own, but given this situation, staff are working on capturing and relocating the bear.

During the fall, bears are more active as they search for food to pack on fat reserves for the winter. This particular bear was likely moving through the area searching for food.”

According to WESH 2 news, the adult female bear that was causing concern has been successfully captured and will be carefully relocated to a safe area in or around the Ocala National Forest. This measure ensures that both the bear and the park visitors are kept out of harm's way and allows for the bear to continue to live in a natural environment.
