Disney World Announces Christmas Holiday offerings

Cinderella's Castle Dreamlights & Jingle Bell, Jingle Bam have been removed from the Holiday offerings

Walt Disney World is on most people's bucket lists for most families in Florida over Christmas. As you would expect, Disney offers guests a wide range of special events, decorations and Culinary treats. 

Let's take a look at the full details of what you can expect for the Christmas 2022 holiday season at Walt Disney World: 

Magic Kingdom

Magic Kingdom is the primary focus of the Christmas celebrations at Walt Disney World. This year, Headlining again is Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party, which runs from the 8th of November to the 22nd of December. Here's what you can expect:

  • "Mickey's Once Upon a Christmastime Parade" returns as Father Christmas joins Mickey and Friends in this spectacular parade. 
  • Nighttime spectacular featuring jaw-dropping Christmas-themed music, fireworks and projections against the backdrop of Cinderella's castle in "Minnie's Wonderful Christmastime Fireworks." 
  • Attractions like Mad Tea Party, Tomorrowland Speedway, Space Mountain and Monstor Inc. Laughing Floor will receive a unique Christmas overlay. In addition, the famous Jungle Cruise also transforms into Jingle Cruise. 
  • "Mickey's Most Merriest Celebration" returns with Dancers, Singers and pyrotechnics over at Cinderella's Castle stage.
  • A special Christmas stage show called "A Totally Tomorrowland Christmas" will be performed at the Rockettower Plaza Stage, featuring Mike Wazowski, Stitch and Buzz Lightyear. 
  • This year guests can have their holiday memories captured at three new Photopass locations. You will also receive a unique-themed 50th Anniversary gift.
  • Special Holiday sweet treats around the park 

Very Merry Christmas Holidays dates are: 

November

8th, 10th, 11th, 14th, 15th, 17th, 18th, 20th, 22nd, 27th, 29th

December

1st, 2nd, 4th, 6th, 8th, 9th, 11th, 13th, 15th, 16th, 18th, 20th, 22nd

Outside Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party, Cinderella's Castle will have various Christmas Holiday projections. Guests can also enjoy Christmas Decorations and theming across Main Street, U.S.A. 

EPCOT

The International Festival of the Holidays returns to EPCOT from the 25th of November to the 30th of December. Candlelight processional returns this year over at the America Gardens Theatre. A host of familiar names will narrate the Christmas Story along with an acapella band ensemble, a 50-piece orchestra and choirs from the local area.

This year's lineup of actors, singers and TV personalities include

  • Mariska Hargitay
  • Raúl Esparza
  • Neil Patrick Harris
  • Whoopi Goldberg

Other offerings at EPCOT include: 

  • A wide range of Musical, dance and Storytelling Performances across the World Showcase Pavillion. 
  • Food Kiosks will serve up local dishes and drinks from around the globe. 
  • Embark on a scavenger hunt for sweet treats on the Holiday Cookie Stroll. Those who complete the treat mission will be rewarded with a completion cookie.
  • International Decor across World Showcase. 
  • Santa will greet guests inside the Odyssey Pavilion as he prepares for the big day.

Hollywood Studios

Hollywood Studios is offering the following for the holiday season: 

  • Holiday Projections against the backdrop of the Hollywood Tower Hotel, including a "Toy Story" Toy Hotel.
  • See Santa Claus in his convertible car cruising down Hollywood Boulevard in The Santa Claus Merry Motorcade. 
  • Olaf stars in a festive finale to "For the First Time in Forever: A Frozen Sing-Along Celebration."

Animal Kingdom

Head over to Animal Kingdom to see holiday themed decorations at your favourite attractions:

  • A Merry Menagerie of life-sized, artisan-sculpted puppets of winter animals brings Discovery Island to life as they interact with guests alongside serenading musicians. 
  • After dark, watch the Tree of Life awaken as a series of wintry tales emerge from within, complemented by holiday-inspired music.
  • Holiday-themed decorations over at Avatar: Flight of Passage. 

Disney Springs

The famous shopping and entertainment district Disney Springs will have the following: 

  • Disney Springs Christmas Tree Stroll features a wide range of decorated Disney Trees. Guests will have the opportunity to go on a scavenger hunt to find all the trees. Once completed, they can bring it to a redemption location for a special surprise.  
  • It will snow in the Town Center District and West Side areas as a snow machine will ensure kids of all ages will feel all Christmassy! 
  • Jock Lindsey's Hangar Bar transforms into a Holiday Bar with jolly decorations to ring in the merry season. Guests can indulge in limited-time holiday-themed sips and snacks to get into the season's spirit.  
  • Guests will find Santa at Once Upon a Toy, where they can take photos and share holiday wishes with him.  
  • Enjoy new and returning festive food items throughout Disney Springs, like the Olaf Hot Cocoa Surprise from The Ganachery.
