New Figment Meet and Greet, Construction Updates and new concept are for the Nighttime Spectacular

Lots has been announced over the last week by Walt Disney World, here is what you need to know:

Figment Meet and Greet

Disney has announced the Fan Favourite Figment will return for Meet and Greets at the Imagination Pavilion later this year.

Communicore Hall Update

New concept art has been released for the CommuniCore Hall at EPCOT, which will open in late Autumn. Currently, the area in World Celebration is heavily under construction, although a tweet for Scott Gustin (WDW Reporter) via Twitter has said the following: 

Fall will also see the completion of the new World Celebration neighbourhood. As the park hub, it will feature different gardens that change with the seasons. It will also be home to the new Communicore Plaza and Communicore Hall, which offers a place to meet Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse. World Celebration will also anchor the park's renowned festivals. It is also where guests will discover Dreamers Point, an inspiring overlook showcasing a statue of Walt Disney called "Walt the Dreamer."

Disney100 Celebration

Although the details are sketchy, Walt Disney World has confirmed that EPCOT will host the Disney100 Celebration in honour of Walt Disney's 100th Birthday. This will include a meet and greet with Mickey and Minnie in platinum attire to a new Spaceship Earth illumination show.

Brand-new Nighttime Spectacular

Disney has released a first glimpse of the nighttime spectacular that will come later this year. The show will include Music, Pyrotechnics, lasers and Lighting, and an original Disney score, especially for the show.

'EPCOT forever' will take over Harmonious on the 3rd of April Temporarily whilst the new show is finalised. As a result, the controversial barges will also be removed from World Showcase Lagoon.      

Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind to keep Virtual Queue System

It was widely rumoured that with the introduction of Tron over at Magic Kingdom, Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind will move to a virtual queue system. At least for the time being, this will not change, and the attraction will still be available via Virtual Queue and Lightning Lane.
